Seth Standley (he/him) (https://www.sethstandley.com/)writes joyful, inventive stories and poems for kids. His debut picture book, Here’s to the Silly Ones (Lucky Rabbit Publishing), celebrates those who live life to its silliest and invites readers to “be silly ever after.” It’s also a bit of a mission statement: Seth believes laughter is one of the surest paths to raising lifelong readers.
Much of his work is inspired by his daughter and her classmates, whom he visits every week as a guest reader. After 15+ years as an advertising copywriter and creative director, Seth traded pitching brands for writing books and is now earning his K–3 teaching certification.
When he’s not writing or studying, you might find Seth volunteering with Seattle Public Schools or Page Ahead, working at a local coffee shop, or learning how to draw per a challenge from his daughter. He is represented by Jess Gilbert of D4EO Literary Agency and lives in Seattle.
