Elizabeth Shreeve

Award-winning author Elizabeth Shreeve (she/her) (www.elizabethshreeve.com) writes children’s books that celebrate the origins and diversity of life on Earth. Her new title, Dinosaurs to Dragons: The Lore and Science of Mythical Creatures (Atheneum/Simon & Schuster, July 2026) explores how fossils and unusual wildlife may have inspired fantastical beings. With art by Violeta Encarnacion, it’s a visual delight! Recent books include On an Ocean Journey: Animals in Motion Through the Seas with artist Ray Troll, The Upside-Down Book of Sloths and The Oddball Book of Armadillos illustrated by Isabella Grott, and Out of the Blue: How Animals Evolved from Prehistoric Seas with artwork by Frann Preston-Gannon.
