“An honest yet uplifting and deeply empathetic child’s-eye view of houselessness” Kirkus Starred review – THE BRIGHT SIDE

Chad Otis (chadotis.com) is an author and illustrator of picture books for children. He loves to talk with groups of kids about what it means to be an author, illustrator and former kiddo! At their core, his books speak to how the most sensitive of us fit into the world around us, and what’s possible when we IMAGINE and TRY!. He’s created books that include NEAT NICK’S BIG MESS (Rocky Pond Books, 2024), The Bright Side (Rocky Pond), which has received several starred reviews, and was chosen for the 2023 National Book Festival of the Library of Congress. He is also the author and illustrator of A Little Ferry Tale (Atheneum), which is an Amazon Editor’s Pick, and Barnes & Noble Exclusive Edition for Summer 2023, Oliver The Curious Owl (Little, Brown), and an upcoming title (Rocky Pond Books, 2025). He is also the illustrator of several books. He lives on the edge of the Rocky Mountains in Idaho with his wife and their ridiculously adorable Cockapoo, Riley.
