Janet Nolan (she/her) (janetnolan.com) is the award-winning author of many picture books, including Bats Beneath the Bridge, Get Ready for Halloween, Get Ready for School, PB&J Hooray!, and Seven and a Half Tons of Steel: A Post-9/11 Story of Hope and Transformation, which was a Junior Library Guild Selection and was on numerous state award lists, including the ILA Teacher’s Choice Reading List. Upcoming titles include Whale Bubbles: How Humpback Whales Build Bubble Nets (releases in 2028). Her engaging and interactive school presentation encourages a love of reading, writing, and storytelling. Janet lives in Oak Park, Illinois. She holds a B.A. from Evergreen State College and a master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Deborah Warren of East West Literacy Agency represents Janet.
