“Millington’s writing does us a great favor.” -Tom Hanks

Allie Millington (she/her) (alliemillingtonbooks.com) is the New York Times bestselling author of books for the young and young at heart. Her storytelling took off in third grade, when she entered a writing contest with a tale about a pencil—and she has been exploring unique perspectives ever since. Olivetti, her debut middle grade novel told by a typewriter, was an instant national bestseller and received a glowing review in the New York Times by Tom Hanks.

Her middle grade novels and picture books have received several accolades, including The Golden Kite Award and Junior Library Guild Selections, been named on multiple state reading lists, and listed as best books of the year by publications such as NPR, School Library Journal, The Boston Globe, and others.

During school visits (grades k-8), Allie loves sharing about her journey through rejection, the power of perseverance, and why writing (and seeing the world) from different perspectives is so important. She lives near Atlanta, Georgia, with her family, a dog called Crumpet, and a collection of clacking machines.
