Callie’s presentation was engaging and informative. It was extremely empowering for students to hear that Callie’s journey began with writing Star Wars fan fiction; they were also interested in the different types of writing she presented, from prose to animation to voiceover scripts.

Callie C. Miller (she/her) (calliecmiller.com) writes for animated television shows, video games, and (most importantly) herself. Her books include middle grade fantasy novels include The Hunt for the Hollower, The Search for the Shadowsoul, and The Vanishing Orphans of Alvanor. Her animation credits include Nickelodeon’s Monster High, LEGO Monkie Kid, and Polly Pocket, among others. She is currently a Video Game Writer on Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars: Jedi team.
When she’s not writing, Callie is most likely reading comics or playing video games or dreaming about hot chocolate (hot chocolate is very important nourishment for writers). She received her MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and currently lives in Los Angeles.
