Nicole Melleby, (nicolemelleby.com) a born-and-bread Jersey native, is the author of highly praised middle-grade books, including the Lambda Literary finalist Hurricane Season and ALA Notable Children’s book How to Become a Planet. Her most recent novel, The Science of Being Angry, received multiple starred reviews and was named a School Library Journal best book of 2022. Her debut picture book, Sunny and Oswaldo, is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard selection. She currently teaches at the Fairleigh Dickinson MFA Creative Writing program, and lives with her wife and their cats, whose needs for attention oddly aligns with Nicole’s writing schedule.
