Lindsey Leavitt

Lindsey Leavitt (lindseyleavitt.com) is the author of over seventeen books for children, tweens, and teens, many of which have appeared on lists like YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults, Amazon’s Best Books of the Year, Bank Street Best Children’s Book of the Year, and Kid’s Indies Next List. Lindsey is a former elementary school and K-12 substitute teacher. As a co-owner of Folklore Bookshop in Midway, Utah, she enjoys story time, hosting her favorite authors, and ordering books. And yes, she writes books, usually at night, usually with a Diet Coke. She’s taught in hundreds of schools over the last twenty years and traveled to twenty two states (Maine, North Dakota, and Alaska—call her!). She writes for all grades and all ages, but currently focuses on elementary and middle school readers. Maybe next year she’ll write a book for adults or babies. Or adult babies. Lindsey would love to speak at your school, library, or soiree—in-person or virtual. She offers a variety of assemblies, keynotes, and workshops.
