Zainab Khan (she/her) (www.zzkbooks.com) is the author of Noura’s Crescent Moon (CBC 2025 Notable Social Studies Trade Book) and Hana’s Hajj (March, 2026). As a Muslim woman of Pakistani heritage who has lived in different parts of the world, her stories are diverse and promote empathy, kindness and unity between children of all faiths and cultures.

Zainab believes in giving back to the community. Part of her author proceeds go to GIVELIGHT.ORG. This organization cares for and educates orphans in fourteen countries. Some of these orphans are now in university!

Zainab plans to spread light and hope across the globe. Currently, she lives in Manhasset, NY with her husband, two adult children and cat. She is an empty nester but only during college hours. You can catch up on her on Instagram at Zainabzk1.
