Jannie Ho (she/her) (http://www.chickengirldesign.com/)is an author/Illustrator & cartoonist living near Boston, MA. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Philadelphia, her books include the early reader graphic novel series Pumpkin and Beetle (Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection), The Lost Mitten (ALA Best Graphic Novels for Children Reading List), Happy Chinese New Year, and Bear and Chicken.
Jannie (pronounced Jane-nee) worked as a designer and art director at fun places such as Nickelodeon, Scholastic, and TIME magazine for kids. It was from working at Scholastic Book Clubs that fueled her love for children’s books, and hoped that someday her books would end up in a flyer (it has!) She is an illustrator for over 75 books including a variety of board, novelty, and picture books.
Jannie loves to run comic workshops for kids in libraries and schools. Her hope is to inspire students to write and draw in a fun and engaging way through visual storytelling and sequential art.
