Kate Cosgrove

Kate Cosgrove (she/her) (katecosgrove.com) is the #1 New York Times bestselling illustrator of A Day With No Words published by Bloomsbury. She has received many award and honors for her artwork, including a Dolly Gray Literature Award, a Highlights Foundation Scholarship, and juried selection for the 41st, 43rd, 44th and 45th Original Art Annual Exhibitions in New York City, and the 62nd Bologna Children’s Book Fair. She both exhibited juried artwork and presented an interactive drawing workshop at the 63rd Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

Kate illustrated And the Bullfrogs Sing, a Bank Street Best Book of the Year and a Maryland Blue Crab Young Reader Award Honors book; The Dirt Book: Poems about Animals that Live Beneath Our Feet, which was a New York Public Library Best Book of the Year and was selected for the Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List; and A Tree Is a Community. Her latest book by Jordan Zwetchkenbaum, My Pollinator Garden, is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection, a Bank Street Best Book of the Year, and an ALSC/ALA Notable book.

With pencil-smudge fingers, she is usually hiding-out with a few pet earthworms, in her slightly-haunted art studio.
